Barboza — Jason W. and Monica (Lameiro) Barboza of Freetown are pleased to announce the birth of their second child and first daughter, Lily Rose, Jan. 21, 2010 in New Bedford. Grandparents are Maria Lameiro of Acushnet, Armando Lameiro of New Bedford, Judith Barboza of Fairhaven and the late George Barboza. NEW BEDFORD -- George "Quahog" Barboza Jr., 55, of Fairhaven died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. He was the husband of Judith (Bento) Barboza. Born in New Bedford, the son of Elsie (Espindola) Barboza of New Bedford and the late George Barboza, he lived in Fairhaven for 13 years. Mr. Barboza was employed by Door Control Inc. in Randolph as a union carpenter. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 33. He was a Vietnam Air Force veteran serving as a sergeant. He loved fishing, and his family and friends. He always had a smile and a joke for everyone. Survivors include his widow; his mother; two sons, Jason Barboza and his fiancee, Monica Lameiro, of New Bedford and Adam Barboza and his wife, Amy, of Acushnet; a brother-in-law, Russell Bento and his wife, Mary, of Fairhaven; two nieces, Rachel Garzon and Kim Bento; a great-niece, Katelyn Garzon; and many cousins. He was the brother of the late Nancy Barboza. His funeral service will be at noon Tuesday at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Blvd. Interment with military honors will be in Rural Cemetery.
